Structural Welding

AWI's Structural Welding Program is designed to train students how to perform welding of plates in all positions. Upon graduation, students will be able to obtain entry level positions in construction of bridges, fabrication of structural components, and other job shop applications.

Class start dates are the first Monday of September and March. Classes are filled on a first come first serve basis. Call Admissions for details on booth availability and inquiries for additional openings.

* Materials fee includes: workbook series, metal (new), testing and certifications (up to three attempts at passing). Additional attempts after the third attempt to pass results in an additional charge of $275.00 per attempt. Price may change due to fluctuation of steel prices.

Requirements

Students are required but not limited to one (1) certification in each SMAW, GMAW and GTAW to pass the program.

90% of 600.0 clock hours must be completed to graduate. Programs are designed as a clock hour program, a clock hour is defined as a 60-minute span of time, with no less than 50 minutes of actual class instruction.
